Tips 1 - Drink responsibly when you are enjoying
a drink. Don't drink if you are under the age of 21, and most
importantly don't drive if you drink.
Beer
Tips 2 - There are a large variety of different beer
styles. These styles are determined its overall character and
its origin. Some styles include American Ales, American Lagers,
German Lagers, Belgian / French Ales, English Ales, and Irish
Ales.

Tips 3 - An "Ale" beer is one that uses
yeast that ferments at the "top" of the fermentation
vessel. These beers have a quicker fermentation period then
the lager beers.
Beer
Tips 4 - There are some beers that will begin to
taste better with age, much like wine. Some of these beers include
old ales, barleywines, Belgian strong ales, and vintage beers.
They should be stored upright in a cool dark place, such as
a cellar.
Beer
Tips 5 - A "Lager" beer is one that uses
bottom fermenting yeast that works slowly. Meaning these beers
have a quicker fermentation period then the ale beers.

Tips 6 - Do a search of your surrounding area for
local breweries. The internet is a great place to start looking.
Also, ask the bartender the next time you are in your favorite
bar if they know of any local breweries that you can buy drinks
from. Not only will you find you may like the local beer as
much as the imported drinks, but you will be supporting the
local economy!

Tips 7 - Take the time to learn some of the terminology
when it comes to drinking beer. If you hear a term mentioned
you've never heard before, ask what it means, or jot it down
to look it up later. Knowing this terminology will help you
out when you go to a bar or pub to order something. It will
help you know what you like and don't like about certain beers.

Tips 8 - Having the right beer with the right food
is just as complicated as picking the right wine to go with
the meal. Ultimately it comes down to personal taste, but there
are many different books available filled with suggestions for
pairings.

Tips 9 - Cooking with beer is a great way to enjoy the added
flavor beer can give to some foods. Beer is very often used
while grilling. A quick Google search will result in hundreds
of recipes that use beer.

Tips 10 - What is Hops? It's a portion of a flowering
plant (Humulus Lupulus) that is use in the fermentation of beer
to alter its flavoring and to stabilize the beer. It helps to
prevent spoilage, with head retention, and to clear beer.
