Job
Interview Tips 1 - Dress to impress! Even if you're
applying for a small retail position, walk in there well dressed
and well groomed. This will present a first impression that
says you respect yourself and you care enough about the interview
to fully prepare for it.
Job
Interview Tips 2 - Fill out the employment application thoroughly
and be sure to include phone numbers of all your previous places
of employment. Write legibly and don't leave anything blank.
If something doesn't apply to you, put "N/A" for "non-applicable".
Job
Interview Tips 3 - Always sit up straight and use "yes
sir" or "no mam" and "thank you" and
"no thank you". Relax and be yourself. Don't be a
phony or put on an act. Most employers can see right though
it.
Job
Interview Tips 4 - Learn as much as you can about the company
you are interviewing with. This way when they ask you about
your skill you can relate them to things that are going on within
the company and how you can use those skills to benefit the
company.
Job
Interview Tips 5 - While youre in the interview, stay
relaxed and calm. If you are nervous and not paying attention,
the interviewer might mistake it for a lack of interest in the
position. Make sure you are listening to everything that is
said so that when you are asked a question you are able to answer
it intelligently.
Job
Interview Tips 6 - Be on time! Of course on time means showing
up at least 15 minutes early. If you are unsure of how long
it will take to get you to the location then leave extra early.
You never know when you might run into traffic problems.
Job
Interview Tips 7 - Always send a thank you note. It is best
to have the paper or card in your car so that you can fill it
out as soon as you leave the interview and you can drop it into
a mail box on your way home.
Job
Interview Tips 8 - Be prepared with everything you might
need. For example, if you are applying for an artistic position
you will have to have your portfolio with you. You should also
always have a copy of your resume and a list of references and
how to contact them.
Job
Interview Tips 9 - Have some questions in mind when you
go into the interview that you want to have answered, but make
sure they are not "easy" questions that the answers
can be found on the company's website.
