ORGANIZATIONAL
TIPS
- Organize, Clutter Free |
|
Organization
Tips 1 - Go up! Are you using the vertical space
in your home to its fullest advantage? Walls are great places
to store things like DVD's and CD using wall racks. Have bookshelves
that go from floor to ceiling. In your closets have shelves
that go all the way up so that you can store out of season clothes
at the top. Take advantage of the space under your bed as well
with storage containers that roll out.
Organization
Tips 2 - Get rid of stuff you don't need on a regular
basis. For some people this will be one a week, for others its
once a month. Which ever works best for you, do it. This will
help keep the amount of clutter down in your home. You will
be able to trash things that are broken, and give away things
to charity that you no longer want, need, or use.
Organization
Tips 3 - Before you leave your desk at night, take
a few moments to put away the papers and pens that are lying
around. There is nothing like walking in your office in the
morning and seeing a clean desk to start the day with.
Organization
Tips 4 - You child's playroom can be overwhelming
with their toys. Have them help you clean up at the end of the
day. It will instill cleanliness in them, and its less work
for you. It will also help them to know where their toys are
when they want to play with them again instead of having to
make a huge mess searching for it.
Organization
Tips 5 - Take advantage of the hundreds of organizational
tools that are out there. Things like hooks for jackets, baskets
for toys on shelves, dividers for magazines and papers
the
possibilities are endless.
Organization
Tips 6 - Using open racks for storage, as well as
glass fronted pantries, will help you stay organized. Most people
just hide their clutter behind doors so that the don't see it.
If you have shelves and pantries that everyone can see into
when they walk into the room, then there is nowhere to hide
things.
Organization
Tips 7 - Take the time to organize. If you are just
starting to get organized then it's going to be hard to get
started. Just keep telling yourselves all the good things that
come from having an organized home and you will get through
it. Plus you only have to "get organized" one. After
that its just a matter of staying organized.
Organization
Tips 8 - Have some fun in getting rid of your stuff.
As you're organizing set aside things to sell at either a bug
yard/garage sale, or to sell on e-bay/craigslist. Once your
have sold a bunch of your stuff, then you can treat yourself
to something nice - like a date night with your husband or wife.
Organization
Tips 9 - Create a schedule and a budget for organizing
your home. Giving yourself a time table will help keep yourself
on track. Set reasonable goals for completing something, and
then give yourself a reward. Keep a budget for purchasing things
that will help keep you organized. Make sure that whatever you
are buying you will use for the long term.
Organization
Tips 10 - Make sure that you have a designated place
in your home for all of your most important documents. A fire
proof box is a great way to store and protect things like birth
certificates, social security cards, passports, insurance documents
and warranties.
