Tips 1 - It is always a good idea to plan a specific
time for studying. Try to schedule specific times throughout
the week. You will be more likely to make the most of your study
time if it is scheduled on a regular basis. You will also be
more likely to be in a proper mindset to begin your study if
you keep a regular schedule.

Tips 2 - Don't study for too long. Your mind will become
tired and lose focus if you spend too long at it. You will be
able to better restore your mental energy by taking small breaks
periodically.
Study
Tips 3 - Establish goals for your study time. Sitting down
just "to study" will probably be of little value to
you. If you outline what you wish to accomplish during your
study time, you are more likely to accomplish these goals.
Study
Tips 4 - Start studying at the same time every day. Do not
procrastinate! Your study time will be of little use if you
rush through assignments that you have put off because you thought
they were difficult.
Study
Tips 5 - Start with the most difficult projects and work
backwards to the easiest. You will have the most mental energy
when you first start studying, and by the time you get to the
last items you need to work on you will have a better handle
on how to complete them.
Study
Tips 6 - Before beginning any assignment, review your notes
thoroughly. This can help you make sure you are correctly completing
the task, and the notes may also provide information that will
be of use to you while completing the assignment.
Study
Tips 7 - Avoid all distractions during study time. If you
are distracted, you will find it very difficult to return to
focus your mind on the task at hand. If you have a cell phone,
turn it off. Avoid studying in a room where there is a TV.
Study
Tips 8 - If you study in your bedroom, make sure that you
are studying at a table or desk and not on your bed. You may
find yourself becoming drowsy very easily by stretching out
on your bed, as it is designed for sleep. Sit upright at a chair,
and this is less likely to occur.

Tips 9 - When reading, read with a purpose. It does no good
just to "read" the assignment because you were told
to. Know why you are reading it and read it accordingly. You
may find yourself re-reading an assignment because it may serve
more than one purpose. Also, try to find the main idea of what
the writer is trying to convey, so that you may better understand
this purpose.
Study
Tips 10 - Review your assignments over the weekend. Set
aside some time to do this, as it will make you better prepared
when you return to class on Monday.
